About me

Hi there! If you've ended up here you're either extremely bored or extremely nosy! Either way, I guess you're looking for more information about me right?

Well let's see.......

I'm 33, married, living in Limerick Ireland with my husband and three kids. Emilia is five, Max is almost three and Cora is brand spanking new! I'm the least romantic person in the entire world and yet I moved in with Gavin three months after meeting him (when I was nineteen) and we got married in Sorrento seven years later, as soon as we were both completely finished with college. Emilia arrived two months before our first anniversary.

When you know you know right?

I grew up on a funfair. Yep. It sounds so made up, I know, but it's true. My family still runs it, they travel around all summer, often in Connemara, and now my kids get to go and stay with my mother on a frickin funfair at the seaside during the holidays! That's an almost impossible granny act to follow!

And to answer the top three questions I get about this, yes I could go on everything as often as I liked, yes I ate a lot of candyfloss, and no the games aren't rigged, the prizes cost less than you pay for a go, why would we bother rigging them?!

I have a Batchelor of Arts in English and Media, but I've never done anything with it. I had no idea what I wanted to do at that point so I just picked something I enjoyed studying. I supported myself through the whole thing, and I moved out of home (and in with Gavin) in my second year, when I was nineteen. At one point I had three jobs, doing a college work placement in a women's shelter full time during the day, and working in a deli and a rock bar in the evenings. That was a pretty intense year!

I started this blog as a kind of creative outlet. I've always been into arts and crafts and design, but I only really started experimenting with my own projects when we bought this (our first) house three years ago. I was on maternity leave, getting really into diy and interior design and I just wanted to share my passion with anyone who might be as excited by spray paint as I was! I don't get to spend as much time on it as I'd like, and there are many, many things I would love to work on to improve the experience you guys have here, but at the moment I'm lucky if I put a bra on more than twice a week so bear with me!

I read somewhere that you have to look at life as being full of stages, and this is just my "barely treading water while I try to do my best with these kids" season. One day I'll have all the time in the world to do what I want to do,....and I'll wish they were small and demanding again. So I'm trying to just let go and enjoy the madness!
