so awkward

So the eagle eyed among you may have noticed my shiny new profile pic gurning at you there. Awkward isn't it? Hard to look at even. Well the reason for that good people is that I had to LET SOMEONE TAKE A PHOTO OF ME WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO PRETEND I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS HAPPENING!

I feel like it might be an Irish thing, but I have a complete inability to "pose" for a photo without looking like I was accidentally snapped just as I went into the first throes of some fit, or just as my face goes into some weird spasm, or when something horribly inappropriate has just started happening in front of me and I don't know what to do.

I asked my husband to take them, and I think he summed it up when he said "this is the most awkward I've ever felt around you and I've watched two live humans exit your body".

So yes, it wasn't fun, but I've been meaning to replace the old crappy selfie I was using and in the last month I've been asked for my pic several times and been really pissed that I didn't have something better quality to send. So today, the kids were at their grandads, I'd had a lie-in and time to do my  make-up, so I grabbed the opportunity to snap a few pictures.

They're still not great due to my cringeyness, and I'm hoping to get better ones soon, but it's a step in the right direction!!

And as some sort of weird self-flagellation/therapy here are a few of the rejects! Enjoy! And know that if you are naturally photogenic that I am very jealous.
